Laurie received her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Mississippi College and holds a Master of Arts in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi. For the past two years, she has worked as a therapist in a community mental health center and provided individual and family therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. She is now a Licensed Professional Counselor and is excited to be working in private practice. Laurie’s approach to the therapeutic relationship is client-centered. She seeks to prioritize the individual and has flexibility in how she comes alongside each person to meet their unique needs. She provides counseling through talk therapy and through play. As a foundation for understanding her clients, she uses her Christian worldview to guide how she cares for her clients with dignity and inherent value. She seeks to provide a safe and welcoming space for her clients to grow in knowledge of themselves and in relationships with others. She has a special interest in working with children, adolescents, and their parents.
